Affiliate disclosure
Last updated Oct 22, 2026. How Midsouth Waterfowl makes money, in plain English.
Right now: no affiliate links
As of today the site has no ads, no sponsored posts and no affiliate links. Nobody pays us to mention a product, a guide service or a place to hunt.
What may change
To cover the cost of running the site, some gear articles may start using affiliate links. That means if you click a link to a retailer and buy something, we may earn a small commission from the retailer, at no extra cost to you. Programs we may join include Impact (for retailers such as Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s and Sportsman’s Warehouse), AvantLink (for brands such as onX, Sitka, Hardcore and MidwayUSA) and Amazon Associates. If we join Amazon Associates, we’ll add Amazon’s required statement here: as an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
How you’ll know
- Any article with affiliate links will say so in a short note near the top, before the first link.
- Affiliate links are marked in the page code as sponsored links.
- This page lists the programs we actually belong to, once we’ve joined them.
What money never touches
- Rules, dates, fees and permits. These come only from the agencies and refuges and link to the official source.
- Where to hunt. Spot guides and public-land pages are never paid for or influenced by a brand.
- Gear picks. We only recommend gear that is well reviewed and that makes sense for public-land hunting in the Mid-South. We mention cheaper options when they do the job, and we’ll say when we haven’t tested something ourselves. A commission rate never decides what goes in an article.
